Projects
Welcome to my portfolio, showcasing a selection of projects that reflect my digital skills, coding and creativity. My design style is characterized by an orderly and clean aesthetic, ensuring that each piece communicates effectively. Projects and prototyping were designed using the Adobe Creative Suite.
Catered Kitchen App
Mobile Design
The Catered Kitchen, a calculator app interface, helps take the guesswork out of buying food for large gatherings. The app has multiple food categories you can choose from. The user enters the number of guests and chooses icons from various food items to calculate the amount of proportions needed. Designed in Adobe XD.

Visual Instructions App
Mobile Design
The visual instructions app design demonstrates a specific everyday physical task to help aide individuals with developmental impairments. The target audience was for special needs youth between the ages of 12-18. A playful visual style was chosen with combinations of illustrations, images, symbols, and numbers. Words explaining the process were not allowed. I chose to design an app that featured the task of how to set the table for a family of 4. I used illustrations and shapes in order to explain the process step by step. Illustrations were converted to vector images from photos that I had originally taken.

Profession App
Mobile Design
The scope of the project was to develop a system that integrates 2 interfaces for an existing profession or life situation. Keystone Practice Platform is designed to be connected across platforms for mobile and tablet. The mobile was designed with the piano instructor in mind since that mode of technology was the easiest to get internet access outside of the home. After surveying parents, the majority agreed that a tablet design would best fit the needs of the student.

Adams County
UX Research/Website Design
The Adams County Iowa website was a redesign of a disorganized heavy information site. The new design needed to be rendered for desktop and mobile views, showing at least 2 other pages of the site.

In my research I noticed a lot of government websites have relied on icons to help find information faster. I chose to make icons for the quick links and place it directly under the header of the site for easy access.

Informing America
UX research/ Website Design
The scope of this project was to create clear and beautiful visual instructions for an app design that will demonstrate a specific physical task to be completed. The target audience was for special needs youth between the ages of 12-18. We were to choose a visual style and use any combination of illustrations, images, symbols, or numbers. Words explaining the process were not allowed. I chose to design an app that featured the task of how to set the table for a family of 4. I used illustrations and shapes in order to explain the process step by step. Illustrations were converted to vector images from photos that I had originally taken. We were also to display our app in a digital prototype.

Haunted Brochure
The design was created in the Adobe program InDesign and photography edits were made in Photoshop. Multiple layered backgrounds were used and faded to create the background texture. I used a tetradic color scheme and accompanied with an offset font to match the feel of the brochure. I purposely used capital letters for the headings to create tension.

Book Cover
The scope of this project was to create an extraordinary image of an object through photography. We were to implement lighting and consider different backgrounds depending on what mood we wanted to capture for the cover. I chose to explore the violin. Usually, it has a very romantic feel to it. I created an image that looks haunting and mysterious by reducing the lighting and using a dark background to photograph. The image was captured with a Sony a7 digital camera.

Digital Design
Social Media Campaign
Branding
For COMM315 Social Media design, we were tasked to brand ourselves and run a social media campaign for multiple weeks. I branded myself as a music artist using the social media platforms Facebook and Instagram. I developed a style guide that included my logo, color palette, target audience, how photographs would appear on my platforms, and other stylistic elements that would set my brand apart. All photos and designs are original. The style guide was created to match the branding style and colors.

Combination Symbols
Logos
The purpose of this project was to design three symbols that combine an object and a service oriented business. The symbols were to be in black and white with no letters allowed. We were to survey individuals and test the symbols to see if they communicated the business and object we were designing.

Different Ways
Infographic
The scope of this project was to create a web infographic to help visualize ways to display an object in a group of 100. The object needed to be measured and compared to other known objects to help the viewer visualize the quantity of the statistics. I chose to demonstrate the cost and nutrition of 100 bananas. The individual facts of a banana were also included along with the facts for the quantity of 100 bananas.

All icons, elements and graphs were created in Illustrator.

Coding
CSS Zengarden
CSS/Sass
The CSS Zen Garden is a demonstration of what can be created through CSS design. We were tasked to choose a theme and implement it using SASS. We were not allowed to change any of the HTML or add classes. Pseudo-classes were used to target tags that did not contain classes. The design is responsive to mobile devices.
Cupcake Delights
HTML/CSS
Cupcake Delights is a responsive static website built from the ground up using HTML5 and CSS3. The color palette was chosen to imitate the colors used in cupcakes. The CSS Grid Layout was used for the gallery page and each of the photos have been optimized. Contrasting fonts were used with a sans serif for the body copy and script font for the headings.
